LQ: Email-notification deactivates from time to time

I have expirenced it two times, that I don't get email-notifications (which BTW indeed is a nice feature...) when someone has replied a subscribed thread. In the user cp, the setting email-notification had for some reason been set to no. Is this a bug or is it me who have done anything wrong?

Thanks in advance.

PS. Forgive me if this has been asked before
