Email notifications of posts to subscribed threads have stopped

Email notifications of posts to subscribed threads have stopped since the last one at 20:37 (GMT+1) on Sunday.

I am getting other emails. LQ's have not gone to my ISP's "Spam directory".

In my LQ profile and I still have "Instant email Notification" selected.

I read this post http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...67#post3547567
on LQ and wonder if it is my ISP's fault. They are BT in the UK.

Jeremy, can you confirm that LQ is sending me the emails?

Thanks

Your provider is returning "temporarily deferred due to user complaints". You'd need to contact them to find out why.

Jeremy,

After an hour on the phone to their call centre, it seems Yahoo's servers (BT have it seems, subcontracted their (my) emails to Yahoo) have blacklisted LQ, specifically the email address you send us notifications from, probably because you send out a lot of emails.

I have PM'd you details of how to get LQ whitelisted.

I have explained to BT / Yahoo that LQ is a very proper site, and I am cross that they should do this without consultation. They say they will "escalate the problem", as they appreciate that we are all being "inconvenienced". They say they'll phone me tomorrow with an update. We'll see.

Hopefully this'll get sorted soon.

Thanks for your time.

Not sure if it's related, but when I first joined LQ, the e-mails kept getting stuffed into my Yahoo Spam folder. Even retrieving them and selecting "Not Spam" didn't completely alleviate the problem. (after 3 or 4, the rest got put there anyway ). The only permanent solution was to add the forums @ LQ address to my Contacts list.

The very same thing happened with CCF, a Yahoo group of which I am a member.

Hope this helps

Yahoo phoned me this morning, and didn't make much sense, but they say that LQ is Blacklisted.
The only way to get it off the blacklist is for Jeremy to fill in this form:

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...er/bulkv2.html
(Thanks Jeremy)

I have tried adding LQ to my yahoo contacts list on the webmail page, but their server at address.mail.yahoo.com just times out.
I hate them.

It would be interesting to know if other users of BT in the UK are having similar trouble, if not, why me?

I've confirmed with Yahoo that this issue has been addressed. Thanks again for the heads up.
