Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I looked around on this - and I couldn't find anything - so I ask.
I no longer get automatically subscribed to threads I start - or post in. So, keeping up with replies and what not, is a but difficult. I'm relegated to searching by my username - which puts undue strain on the server. I checked for a setting - but didn't find one. ??????? Any suggestions?
Not that I am aware of - and looking in there - all that I find you can disable - is e-mail notifications - which I have turned on....but like a lot of folks - I spend a good deal of my downtime at work here - and would hate to have to continually check my mail
I just noticed - that the sentence above - is one big, long - runon sentence - and I am potentially a moron....

Are you set up for e-mail notification whenever there's a reply to one of your posts? My subscribed threads disappeared when I set that option to default to off, and when I opted to be notified about a couple of others, they showed up as subscribed.
I'm having a similar problem. When I reply to a thread, it does not auto-subscribe me to the thread like it used to do. However, I did disable the e-mail notification because I don't want to fill up my inbox with LQ e-mails. Do I need to get the e-mails to auto-subscribe? I've enabled the e-mails, and will test it out.
Yes, you need to turn e-mail notification ON to auto-subscribe to the threads. You can turn this on in your CP/MyLQ for all of your posts or you can activate it individually for each thread you reply to.
