Accidentally put this together (based on the work of others) as follows: my son's biology homework started with a cd allegedly requiring w$, or, if used live, mac. OK, Wine has improved considerably, so... having "compiled" the program in Wine, nothing worked due to lack of shockwave player. I started off from

All that is needed is to install firefox, flashplayer, and shockwaveplayer (w$ versions) in Wine. (The above link will save time here.)
As a bonus, it solved my perennial problems with youtube.
I will test it out on some radio stations- it may prove to be easier than wrestling with plugins.
