Accidentally put this together (based on the work of others) as follows: my son's biology homework started with a cd allegedly requiring w$, or, if used live, mac. OK, Wine has improved considerably, so... having "compiled" the program in Wine, nothing worked due to lack of shockwave player. All that is needed is to install firefox, flashplayer, and shockwaveplayer (w$ versions) in Wine. (The above link will save time here.)
As a bonus, it solved my perennial problems with youtube.
I will test it out on some radio stations- it may prove to be easier than wrestling with plugins.
