Slow FTP and web suse 9.1

Hi

I recently got my linksys wireless 54g card working in suse 9.1 personal on my laptop using ndiswrapper. Now I am having some troubles with speed.

I disabled eth0 since this laptop will hardly ever be plugged. In order to view most websites I had to disable the ipv6 (after reading another post). I am now experiencing extremely slow response when trying to browse to files on an ftp server. The authentication goes pretty fast, but the files take several minutes to show up (using Konquerer). Some websites tend to load pretty slowly too.

I am using a DSL modem that automatically provides an IP address through DHCP.

I am not sure what to fix next to get this thing tuned up a little better. Any guidance would be apprecated.

Thanks
Roland

Wow, it looks like I stumped everyone...well I gave up and went back to windows for a while, but I just HAD to give it another go and still cannot get it to work. I have read every post having to do with my stupid qwest dsl and nameservers and suse and nothing seems to get my ftp access to work properly. Looks like I have wasted yet more time with this. I guess this is just a vent (hopefully some developers actually read this forum). I just want simple things like connecting to the internet and remote ftp sites to work properly, but I guess that is too much to ask.

For what its worth, suse installed very nicely on my laptop other than the internet issues.
