Help!!! Red hat 7.2 FTP, WEB, MAIL connectivity to the server is running slow
I have RED HAT 7.2.
HELP
last week when trying to access my box which is about an inch from my laptop takes forever to log in with telnet or takes minutes to pull up a web page or check mail. Forget FTP because it says socket connected waiting for message then it times out.
So I put in a new board and processor and a new drive and reloaded everything.
Today the same crap just happened about an hour ago. I was running fine one minute then blah.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. when I bring up a webpage half of the page comes in fast then it dies then 30sec later the rest comes in. it stalls
2. FTP socket connected waiting for message then it times out
3. mail. I hit send and receive on my laptop go take a dump and when I return it just starts checking the mail
4. telnet, I have time to shovel snow before the loggin screen appears.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know it's not a DNS problem because using the ip instead of the domain has no change on anything. Plus everything works fine on the box.
Any idea's of what the problem could be? What can I do? Is there a problem with TCIP and if so what can I do to check or correct the problem. I replaced the nic card and that did nada.
Man this is frustrating
Thanks Jobesd
