XMMS will play for a bit then gives error

I get the error, "Couldn't open audio" "Please check that"
1. you have the correct output plugin selected
2. no other program is blocking the soundcard
3. your soundcard is configured correctly

Anyhow, XMMS plays the mp3's just fine, but every now and then, it will give me that error when it tries to start playing a new mp3. It seemed like it would do it any time another application would make a sound. But it also does it when no other sounds are occuring. Running SuSE 9.1 Pro and KDE 3.1.

Thanks!
Gangien

Did you try to play around with xmms preferences? There you can choose which output driver its gonna use.

Yes you may need to change the drivers XMMS uses to play an audio file.

Usually that driver means that it could not load the driver for the sound card
