Question X applications warning

I recently upgraded to RH 5 (from 3 ) and all seems well - except for X applications.

For xterm, xclock, xscreensaver, etc. I get:

Warning: Color name "black" is not defined

And sometimes green, red, also.

What's up - which config file is missing/incorrect?

Thanks,

John P

IIRC terminal capabilities are defined centrally in /etc/termcap.
Personal preferences are in ~/.Xdefaults(-hostname).

AFAIK RHEL 5 isn't available yet, so which distro+release are you talking about?
I sure hope it's FC5 and not RHL5. All of RHL was deprecated in 2004.

Red face Oops!

I meant Fedora Core 5 - I still have the old RH stuck in my mind.

I'll check the configs, thanks.

Heh. All is OK then...

I'll check the configs, thanks.
Also check "grep -i black /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt", it should return "0 0 0 black".

OK - that's it

I did "grep -i black /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt" and there was no such file!

I did find it in /usr/share/X11/ and it grepped 0 0 0 black, so I copied it to
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt and re-started the X server.

It works! No more undefined, and the x apps work properly.

Thanks so much,
