wine tricks your computer into thinking its windows but you have to tell wine which version of windows to pretend to be - by default it is win95 -
world of worcraft dosenrt run under win 95!!

heres how to change it:
find a file called wine.conf:
Code:
#updatedb
#locate wine.conf
edit that file as root using your favourate editor
within that file is a line that should look a bit like this:
Code:
"Windows"="win95"
change it to be
Code:
"Windows"="winxp"
that may only be the start of your problems, as wine is designed for running windows aopoplications like e-mail and things - it dosent support big 3d games well - try : http://www.transgaming.com/ who offer a cuntomised version of it with specila proparity m$ code to get 3d working - it will cost tho

I have read of people running world of warcraft in wine, they used a relatively recent version of both wow and wine and used the -opengl switch.

to make the changes maintained in the previse post use
Code:
winecfg
under the Applications tab

what version of wine are you you using?
Code:
wine --version
wow will only run on me and xp do not know about vista
