Why do I need Jack?
Hi I have tried to get the application Jack happening and have gotten nowhere(no sound out of audacity etc but sound if I play a dvd via vlc) but my main question is why do I need it. A friend asked this as he knows I have no instruments like a piano keyboard, external mixer or whatever to plug into the computer to record from. Yes sometimes I might use a microphone but that is it.If I uninstall Jack will everything work? I have Ubuntustudio installed.
