Kubuntu does jack.

Got Kubuntu installed... wanted to use Ardour on it for multitracking...

seems to work fine, although 99% of the time when I boot, Jack seems to be running, so my soundcard driver's occupied. If I run Ardour it says jack isnt running. I have to kill the 'jackd'PID with Top before I can actually RUN jack to get ardour goin.

my question is:

a- is there a way to get jack just goin properly from startup so Ardour'll just work for me?

b- is there a way to STOP jack from running on startup, so I can run it manually without it saying it's already running?

Thanks.
