Where do installed apps go?

Hi, Im a newbie.

I have just RE-INSTALLED the Adobe Reader (from the website), because the one that I used to have didn't have a search plug-in and told me that it needs to be re-installed to fix it.

So I remove the software package from my comp in a standard way using the removal wizard. Then I downloaded and run the rpm install file. Everything went fine, in the end it said 'installation complete'. But now when I run a pdf file the acrobat doesn't start, I can't even find it in the Panel menu.

Where is it?

massive thanks

Maybe it is in /usr/local/bin or in /usr/bin.Try to find it and when you open pdf file and computer asks you: open with what? you tell him "/usr/local/bin/....

Thanks a lot eka, it was in the usr/bin folder.

The only thing now is that although the seach plug-in apparently work, it does not recognise text and cannot find anything. Anyone knows about a pdf-viewer with a search tool?
