Finding Installed Apps

This may sound stupid but can anyone tell me where apps go after I install them? For example I've installed bittorent through the rpm, but I can't find where it was put and it's not in the Kmenu.

(I'm running under FC4 and KDE)

Thanks.

Simply type
Code:
whereis bittorrent
in a terminal window.

You can always try
Code:
find / -name bittorrent
If that does not yield a result, bittorrent is (probably) not installed.

Likewise if you are interested in reviewing the full set of installed packages, you can use the KPackage tool, which will group them by category.

Does the command
Code:
ls /usr/bin/bt*
give any output? If so, post it.

Mmmno, that didn't help. Mine lists various aspects of the bittorrent program when I do that.
