want to play sound from a remote server???


I want to play sound on my computer while i am logged on to some remote machine through ssh or any remote desktop software ( such as vnc or krdc ).
The problem is that i am able to see the movie but not able to get the sound in my speakers.
plzzzzzzz help!!!!!

That's a very inefficient way to do things in the first
place ... you'd need to compile the application you
use to play movies to allow for NAS (network audio
system) which you'd probably need to install on both
machines as well ... but if I were you I'd consider
streaming the file instead of playing it on the server.

How do i stream files from a server ??
By the way i also installed nas 1.7 . But my nasd server is not starting ........everytime it gives me "Output open(/dev/dsp) failed : No such device or address" error. I ve checked the file /dev/dsp ......it's there with "crw-------" permission.
