Is it possible to set VNC (TightVNC, for example) to use PAM-authentication instead of the normal RFB? This way I could centralize all my usernames/passwords to one LDAP-server. Separate RFB-authentication makes it difficult to maintain the workstations...
I'm not sure how you would do this with VNC but I know it is easily accomplished with XDMCP. Check out this howto to learn more about it http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/XDMCP-HOWTO/

I am very familiar with XDMCP and NX, but unfortunately I need VNC server, as it is, to perform password checking from PAM. I guess it's not possible, because I've been searching a way from Google and so far found nothing...
