Unable to play videos using mplayer, image distorted
I installed recently on my Suse Linux 9.2 mplayer. the installation went well, but whenever i try to actually view a movie using mplayer the sound is ok but the image is a disaster, meaning that it looks exactly like the image on an old monitor when it's set to a incompatible refresh rate. Hope someone else who encountered this problem before can help me solve it.
I am having the same problem. It runs OK but every once in a while I get lines on the screen, and it's choppy. It's only for a second, but when you are watching a movie you can see every imperfection. I guess I'm picky. I really like Kaffeine's interface but Mplayer seems to play better.... anyway when I typed:
mplayer -vo xv filename.ext
I got this:
rzavarella@linux:~> mplayer -vo xv filename.ext
