Unable to play VCDs with Xine. Where can I get mplayer for Debian?
I am currently unable to play VCDs with Xine. It exits with an error message that I cannot read because it disappears quickly. I think it's something to do with not recognizing the format.
Does anybody know how to play VCDs and where I can get mplayer? There's no mplayer in the Debian Repositories.
While some people have claimed to see mplayer in a package format, typically you have to compile it. You can find it at www.mplayerhq.hu/ and the guide is really simple if you read it first. If you don't read all of it first, your likely to miss out on the w32 codec installation
http://www.apt-get.org/ for all your apt needs. You can find all these mirrors for all these packages here, really worth site, for future reference :P.
