Unhappy Trying to remove Yahoo messanger from Fedora Core 2


I installed Yahoo Messenger for Fedora Core 2. Now me being an idiot deleted the rpm. Now i can't run or reinstall Yahoo messenger. Any help would be appreciated. This is the first time i have ever used linux so i am very confused.

You can download it again from the yahoo messenger site. Download the one for Redhat 9, it should work fine oon Fedora Core. The title of your thread says trying to remove it. You remove rpms using the command "rpm -e packagename" . In your case "packagename" would be "ymessenger".

I tried installing it again and it says it already exists, so i tried to uninstall it and it says the files cannot be found to remove them. So i am stuck because i can't figure it out. The only thing i can think of is that i updated core 2 to the new kernel update. Maybe yahoo doesn't like this new kernel or vice cersa.

I am going to try reinstalling linux and not doing the update for the new kernel.

use the --force option


rpm -Uvh --force yahoo.....rpm
