ive tried 2 follow the booklets that come with the suse linux 8.2 professional version, but nothing seems to work. ive tried to install it using all the options available: safe mode or something and a bunch of others. the screen goes through a lot of symbols and codes, than it goes blank with a little bar blinking on it. you can type stuff into the screen, but i have no idea what im soppose 2 do. is there something you type in that screen to make it install?

im trying 2 install this on a computer with windows 98, if that helps at all

Unless you've got bad CD's/DVD -- have you tried both? - if you have a DVD drive of course -- It should simply be a case of inserting the media, booting up and ticking the selections as you go. It's not supposed to give out any symbols and codes, I take it you mean errors. If you've bought it from a local source, perhaps you could take it back and exchange it for the 9.0 distro or report back to SuSE that it seems faulty. I can't think of anything that would cause that problem that would be down to anything you've done.
