Sound problem

Hello all!

I have the following problem when trying to install alsa sound on my SuSE 7.2 with 2.4.4 Kernel, standard installation: When I run YAST2 or alsaconf the soundcard is recognized and installed, but when I boot the system it first loads the emu10k1 driver but directly after that it gives an error messages "Restoring previous sound settings..... failed". The /etc/asound.conf is always empty, and there is no sound at all. I tried to download the update from the SuSE ftp-server, but the same effect.

Any ideas?

Thx Thomas

My System:

Epox 8k7A+
Athlon T-Bird 1333
2*256 MB PC2100 DDR RAM
Elsa Erazor II AGP
2*40GB IBM HD on RAID Controller
Soundblaster Live! Value
AVM USB Fritz! Card USB (with AVM Drivers)
