Screen Grabber for Linux

Hi Folks

I have used a very good screen grabber in the Windoz environment, called Snagit. Snagit allows for the grabbing of either the whole screen, a window or a selected area.

Does anyone know of a similar application that will work in the Linux Environment. And if so under what GUI. BF

If you are talking about getting a screenshot of the screen at any instant, the program `Screen Capture' should help you. You can grab either the window with the pointer or the enitre screen. Saves images as .png files which can be converted using Gimp. Hope this is what you are looking for. My box runs in RH 7.2 and Screen Caputure can be found under `Graphincs -> Screen Caputre'.

xv can do that. It works under X (doesn't need kde/gnome).
