rpm dependency issue

i was install mplayer on my laptop (rh9) and it says i need X11 devel packages.
i got the X11 devel rpm but when i install the rpm it needs some other rpm.
about 5-6 packages down the line it works.
is there a command or tool that will solve all of the dependencies for me???
can i make up2date do this??? if so how????
thanks.

You need to get yum or apt4rpm - both of these will download the rpograms and resolve dependencies automatically.
