Replacement for Frontpage Extensions

I made the switch from MS to RH Linux over a year ago with the last piece of software giving me headaches is running the Frontpage server extensions.

I want to get rid of it but do not know of other products that can publish so easily (i.e. login with password, perform html file save, im done) and also need a replacement for the webbot forms.

Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement?

thx

- Mike

You could try nvu I think is what its called.. or bluefish, quanta.. etc. They're not going to give you the all in one, log you in, publish and disconnect as frontpage did, but I see that as a good thing. No more crappy html pages and probably getting rid of many security leaks and holes by not using frontpage. Is it so hard to just login, select your updated files and push the upload button thru ftp or another source these days?

The 2002 extensions for Unix have not had any security issues in the last year or so. I was reluctant to change since I thought that I would be creating more of a security risk by going with ftp where as Frontpage is a port 80 cgi login.

The Frontpage webbots for forms also do not have any issues but again formmail.cgi has a security issue.

What do apache admins commonly use for web forms these days that is safe?
