raw dev prblm, cannot load INIT 3

Hello Together,

I am a newbie to Linux.... and I was tryin to change the frequency of my monitor, whatever I did I could not change it at least to 85 Mhz. I have Mandrake 10.1 and in System configuration - Monitor - Custom I changed the settings of horizontal and vertical rate....to the maximum, well and after rebooting the graphical log in screen does not appear....

So and when I am trying to run init 3 I get this:

INIT: Switching to runlevel: 3#
Stopping dm:
Assigning raw devices: Cannot open master raw device '/dev/rawctl' (No such file or directory)

How can I change the horizontal and vertical rate back? I guess this caused the problem....

thanx.
