Question Question regarding MSN Messenger & Similar Software...

Hey Guys.

I'm wanting to start using Linux and try and forget windows completely

My Question...

I need to be able to use MSN messenger or compatible in Linux. I know there are a lot of programs out there but what I'm really looking for is one that supports MSN Messenger Webcam. Any such software?

If not, is there any program I could use for that and video conf. in linux that is compatible with a similar software in Windows? The person I wanna video conf. with will not be able to use Linux hence the question.

Thanks guys...

Good effort.

I'm also waiting to be able to use my webcam. The best msn clone I've found so far has been amsn

http://amsn.sourceforge.net

Unfortunately this has no webcam function as yet.

I'll let you know if I find one

What about Wine?

I'm pretty sure I've gotten MSN Messenger to run with Wine before.
Usually, the trick is to find a slightly older build, the newer ones work funny with Wine.
Try oldversion.com (or is it oldversions.com?) for older builds.
I'm pretty sure I used one of the MSN v5 builds.
