I have a question that may be very stupid. I am running JAMD linux based on RedHat 9.0 and I have a problem mounting Audio CDs. I can mount ISO formatted image disks no problem, but if I insert an Audio CD i get a "/dev/cd-rom does not exist" message. I know it might have to do something with symbolic links and autodetection, but what gives?
I've got Debian and it utterly refuses to admit that there's a CD in the drive.
How can I use XMMS to play a CD that the computer doesn't know is there?
Goto Options--Preferences on xmms right-clic menu; First tab (must be something like Audio I/0 plugins, mine is in galician ), look at CD-Audio player plugin, activate it. Clic on "configure" that plugin and indicate xmms where is your CD-Audio (/dev/dvd ; /dev/cdrom; /dev/hdd; /dev/cdrecorder...)
