Talking Problem mounting Audio CDs in KDE

Hello!

I have recently been having a problem with mounting an Audio CD from my CD-RW Drive. The drive's mount point (/dev/cdrom1) is working fine but I cannot open the CD Icon on the desktop. The following error message appears:

-------------------------------------------------
Could not mount device.

The reported error was:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom1,

or too many mounted file systems.
-------------------------------------------------

Can anyone help?

Also, I would like to know if anyone can tell me how to access a memory card flash reader.

Kyle

Just to add to what rshaw is saying you can play audio cd's with a multimedia player (I use XMMS) but they don't have a recognised file system and therefore cannot be mounted.

However, in KDE there is the ability to see the contents of an audio CD as wav, mp3 or ogg files. If this is what you want, then go to the KDE Control Centre, Information, Protocols and make sure that "audio cd" is present and enabled in the IO Slaves section. You should understand, however, that this is not mounting an audio CD. You mount filesystems and since audio discs do not contain files (they contain raw audio data) then there is no filesystem, if there is no filesystem, then they cannot be mounted. Things like the above, and cdfs interpret the data on the disc and present a pseudo-filesystem.
