Problem with K3B.

I want to write a recently downloaded Mandrake LE 2005 CD ISO Image to a cd.

I have Cent OS 4 installed, and I am using KDE - K3b.

But while attempting to burn the ISO file to the disk, I get the following Error.

do you get this error when burning all cd's or just this one??

What kernel version are you using btw? some k3b/kernel combos didn't work properly.
So verion of K3b as well please.

Have you run the setup utility for K3B? it sets permissions /dev/hdc etc.

it looks like the permissions aren't set to me. Try burning the disk as root to confirm this....

it's important to run the k3b setup thingie....

Yeah. I really think I need to upgrade cd-record from the sort of messages I have received.
I never got such problems with k3b, but yes, you are correct, maybe the kernel and k3b version are a mismatch.

Yeah. I got somewhat different errors running it as root. (In fact it told me to run it as root --but that was only once.)

I will read that link you provided.

Moreover I plan on upgrading KDE as a whole to 3.4.2 (maybe) or some more stable version.
