Hi,

I've been using Suse 10.0 OSS for a while now with very few problems, but a new one has appeared recently and I don't know how to fix it.

When KDE starts, I get an error message saying that the Powersave daemon is not running. If I try to restart powersaved, or even check its status, all I get is a message saying 'Segmentation fault'.

Can anyone tell me what this might mean, what I can do to fix it, or where I might look to find more information on the exact nature of the problem?

Still quite new at diagnosing and fixing problems, so any and all advice would be gratefully received.

you generally can't do alot about that accept try to upgrade the offending program.
segmentation fault is when the application tries to access invalid memory (NULL or corrupted pointers) its something winblows is so famous for. it's just a programming error.
