Palm Pilot

I am trying to configure JPilot to sync with my Palm, needless to say I am having problems. I am hoping that someone could point me in the right way.

I am running RH v9.0 and using a Palm m125.

Under the file menu, I click on preferences. I then click on settings.

What is the serial rate? I have 9600.
and
My serial port is /dev/pilot
Click done.
then
I click on sync on the bottom left hand part of the window and it tells me to click my sync button on my cradle. I do. And the Palm Pilot alerts me to an connection error.

Please help!

Michael

If it is a usb device you need to create a symlink to it.

ln -s /dev/usb/ttyUSB1 /dev/pilot

It is a USB device. How do I create a symlink to -s /dev/usb/ttyUSB1 /dev/pilot? When I create it, will it be a one time creation or will I have to create a symlink to it everytime?
Thank you very much for your help.

Thanks!

As root or su run the command in a console ln -s /dev/usb/ttyUSB1 /dev/pilot this has worked for me in SuSE, RedHat and mandrake.
