NFS problem

Hi all!

I have Solaris 8 NFS server and CentOS Linux NFS client, the server has nobody UID/GID 60001 and Centos nfsnobody UID/GID are 4294967294.
The problem is that I can mount nfs filesystem but I can't access it becaus of UID/GIDs mismatch.
I tried to usermod and groupmod nfsnobody to 60001 on CentOS box, but it still mounts nfs with 4294967294 UID/GID.

Does anybody know how to make CentOS nfs client mount with nfsnobody UID/GID 60001?

Any help will be greatly appriciated.

Read the section on User ID Mapping in 'man exports'. You need to make this change on the server, not the client.

Hi, bulliver.
Thanks for reply.

Solaris doesn't have exports but it has share option "anon" which is used to control unknown UIDs. I have tried it already "anon=60001" but it didn't work for me, Linux box still mounts with UID 4294967294 and only root can access nfs...

Thanks any way.
