Do you mean a spellchecker for the email client or a spellchecker for the browser (for web forms like this)? The email client should have a spellchecker built in. You can install new dictionaries http://www.mozcafe.com/download/
It's the e-mail client that I would like to find the spellchecker for. I kind of assumed that one would be built-in as you said, however I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Normally, something like that would be under the tools menu or maybe the edit menu. Moreover, many e-mail clients allow you to set the preferences so that an automatic spellcheck will occur when you send the message. Again, I can't find it in Mozilla for some reason.
Maybe I am missing something obvious, but I just can't find it.
I tried to install the spell checker from Mozilla Cafe and ran into problems. First, they do not list having a spellchecker for the Mozilla Application Suite 1.7.3. However, I tried to download the others. The download seemed to work, however when I tried to install the additional dictionaries, it said that I had not given the required security permissions. I don't have any idea what it is talking about.
Good point, I hadn't thought of that, not a good idea to go browsing as root. I'll think about that. I've just had a look at the mail client in Mozilla and the spellchecker is on the toolbar when you're composing an email (usually I use Thunderbird)
Edit - Here's a better link http://dictionaries.mozdev.org/ To install the dictionary first download it. Right click on the one you want then choose Save Link As...Then log out and log in as root. Disconnect from the web, open mozilla and drag and drop the dictionary.xpi into the open mozilla window
