Evolution spellchecker

I just upgraded from RH 7.2 to 9, and added evolution 1.2.2-4. Can't get the spellchecker to work. It seems to allow me to enable it for English but it does not work at all.

I have the following dependences:
aspell-0.33.7.1-21
pspell-0.12.2-16
gnome-spell-0.5-5

Any idea where I can find if I am missing something. Their web site does not list the dependencies needed.

Fetchmail is not yet working for Pine so I am stuck with evolution for now.

Thanks for any help.
