Move remote files with gFTP?

How does one move files on a remote host from one remote directory to another remote directory? I'm using gFTP and I can't see any way except to download them first then upload them to the other remote dir.

What you want to do is called "FXP". gFTP supports it but this protocol must be accepted by the two remote FTPs, the one in send, the other in receive. Check if those remote FTPs include this functionality.

Actually, I meant on the same server. Sorry I didn't make that clear. I can do it on the command line using the rename command but some of my files have long names and I'd have to do them one at a time.

Copy.
Paste.

List, copy paste? I don't understand that, I'm using gftp client and I want to move some files to another directory, I've already done it but it took a long time, I'd like to know how to do it an easier way using gftp, you know, for future reference.

Sorry, my comment was directed to your earlier comment about doing it from the command line except the file names were too long.
From the command line ftp, moving from folderA to folderB, both in the root directory.
cd folderA
ls (to list the files)
(highlight filewithareallylongname to copy it)
rename filewithareallylongname ../folderB/filewithareallylongname
(paste the name both times)
You can also use tab completion and command recall with the arrow keys as possible.
Not a gftp solution.
