Unhappy Media manager service not running on Suse 11.0 KDE 4

Hi, i'm new to linux. A friend recommended i try it out. To be honest i'm totally suprised it is in fact brilliant.

I'm running Suse 11.0 with KDE 4

I've just been experiencing a problem with my media manager service.
I instllaed vlc & all its extras. When i play a mpeg4/avi file i get the error "Media manager service not running". I wish i could give you detailed info but unfortunately that is all i get.

I've done a repair using the installation DVD, & another thing i noticed is that in the Services Manager the "Media manager Service" is not present.

Is it possible to install it seperately, repair it etc

I would appreciate any kind of help.
