Linux Multimedia


i've been doing a lot of DV editing and animation on an apple, but i definitely prefer linux. what linux programs are out for 3D animation and video editing? how do these programs stack up against things like fcp, adobe premiere, maya, etc.?

I am by no means a DV expert, in fact I only started about a month ago with Cinelerra, so I can't give any comparisons. But, I found it to be rather thorough.

I havent ever done any 3D animation, but I came over an article in a mag about a program called "blender" that does 3D designing, you might try a google for it.
