hpoj and libusb compiling problems

For a while now I have had my HP psc 1210 3-in-one printing just fine with cups and hpijs. Then I got bored and wanted to see if I could get it to scan. So, I installed hpoj and sane. Then scanning worked great. But printing did not. So I then installed libusb, and tried to recompile hpoj. Then I get this error:

make[1]: Entering directory `/root/temp/hpoj-0.91/mlcd'
g++ -I/root/temp/hpoj-0.91/mlcd -I/root/temp/hpoj-0.91/mlcd/transport -O -g -Wall -DEX_TRANSPORT_UNIX_PORT -DPAR_PLATFORM_LINUX -DUSB_PLATFORM_LINUX -DJD_DEBUGLITE -DHAVE_LIBUSB -DVAR_RUN_PREFIX="\"/var/run\"" -c -o ExMgr.o ExMgr.cpp
same -c -o ParPort.o ...
same -c -o transport/ExTransport.o ...
same -c -o transport/ExMlcTransport.o ...
same -c -o transport/ExMlcCommandChannel.o ...
g++ -lusb -o ptal-mlcd ExMgr.o ParPort.o transport/ExTransport.o transport/ExMlcTransport.o transport/ExMlcCommandChannel.o
ExMgr.o(.text+0x9555): In function `UsbMgr::llioInit()':
/root/temp/hpoj-0.91/mlcd/ExMgr.cpp:3945: undefined reference to `usb_init'
ExMgr.o(.text+0x95be): In function `UsbMgr::llioGlob()':
/root/temp/hpoj-0.91/mlcd/ExMgr.cpp:3959: undefined reference to `usb_find_busses'
... and more libusb functions undefined in ExMgr.o ...

I get the same error on an other system that I know libusb is working on.

Thanks for any help.

I fixed it! I found this post that mentioned compile errors due to the missing extention on the libusb library files. After adding links to each file adding .so, hpoj compiled fine. Hope this helps someone.
HP PSC 1210 scanning and printing with:
-hpoj-0.91
-libusb-0.1.8
-sane-backends-1.0.15
-hpijs-1.6.1
-cups-1.1.17
