Help With Installing SDL Mixer

I need someone to post how they would go about installing the SDL mixer which is needed for some games. Anytime I compile anything it messes up. Here is what I have done so far.

./autogen.sh

it did that fine

then:

./configure

after that I don't know what to do maybe something with depcomp?

Usually just about all downloads will have a README and INSTALL file you can get the exact instructions off of. That is what I would recommend. In most cases its make and make install after a ./configure.
