You could try removing those packages and installing from source... a bit long winded though. I take it you have done "find" and/or "slocate" for the file? Maybe you should be looking for "libSDL.h"? just a guess...
Ok. I have installed it from a RPM at http://www.libsdl.org, browsed it and found that what I should type, actually, is #include <SDL/SDL.h> not #include <SDL.h> as comes by default ;D. Thanks to everyone.
