Installing SDL

I am a Novice at linux, just installed it to dual boot with XP. Im running Fedora Core and am trying to install SDL. I followed the instructions to the tee, but i get different results. When i get to the point where it wants me to type "make install" i get the following back ;

Code:
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/brian/SDL_gfx-2.0.13'
test -z "/usr/local/lib" || mkdir -p -- "/usr/local/lib"
 /bin/sh ./libtool --mode=install /usr/bin/install -c  'libSDL_gfx.la' '/usr/local/lib/libSDL_gfx.la'
/usr/bin/install -c .libs/libSDL_gfx.so.13.0.0 /usr/local/lib/libSDL_gfx.so.13.0.0
/usr/bin/install: cannot create regular file `/usr/local/lib/libSDL_gfx.so.13.0.0': Permission denied
make[1]: *** [install-libLTLIBRARIES] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/brian/SDL_gfx-2.0.13'
make: *** [install-am] Error 2
I can find any solution to this browsing Google, i just dont know what to do!!!

Well, your first error was simple: you need to su to root to run the "make install".

As for your second error - -- maybe a bad download?

should have already been set up at install, try:

yum install sdl

or look on your install cd's for the packages.

Try
Code:
yum update
Code:
yum search libsdl
Once you've found the package name, install it with the
Code:
yum install
command.
