Hello,
I am using gvim to write LaTeX documents. Everything works if I start gvim from a terminal, However, if I start gvim from my fluxbox menu or a keyboard shortcut the PATH environment variable is set incorrectly.
The correct path, as set by /etc/profile and sourced from ~/.bashrc and ~/.bash_profile
Code:
echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/teTeX/bin/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu:/usr/X11R6/bin
The path that I get by starting gvim from my fluxbox menu and typing ":!echo $PATH" from gvim
Code:
:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/ucb
I have no idea where the path that vim picks up comes from but it is definately not in .bashrc .bash_profile /etc/profile or /etc/bashrc . the /usr/ucb directory at the end of the gvim path does not even exist!
when run from a menu or keyboard shortcut where does g-vim pick up its PATH environment variable from?
Thank you
