Gnome mixer error

Hi there!

I have trouble setting up Gnome.
Everytime I start my Gnome session a dialog with the following error message pops up:

Couldn't open mixer device /dev/sound/mixer

I don't have a sound card.
Does anybody know how to remove this annoying error message?!?

disable all sound options in the config menu maybe?
i dont use gnome, so i cant really give you any precize info, but i think if youll "let gnome know" that you dont use sound, you wont get the error
