I am having some issues with .eps files in GIMP v2.2.7. I generated the .eps files that I now want to edit, and they are pretty simple, just black and white dots. The dots represent coordinates on a plane, and so some have negative x and y values. The problem is, when I come to edit them with GIMP, it only displays things that fall to the right and above zero (ie, dots that do not have any negative coordinates).

Has anybody else had this problem? Is it just intrinsic to GIMP? Interestingly, kghostview displays the same file with no problems.

Try to post a bugreport? If kghostview has the same problems, maybe negative coordinates are not a legal part of the format?
