Get agpgart as a loadalbe kernel module, without kernel recompilation?

Recently, I have managed to install gentoo
I used the liveCD kernel and it didn't have agpgart module inside.
Therefore, I cannot load the i810 driver for my vga chipset controller.

Now I have to somehow load the agpgart module but I really hate recompiling the kernel because the compile process take 5 hours to finish on my slow computer.

Is there any solution ?

Well, I would say simply that there is no other way.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I think there must be a way, linux is rummored to be very configuralbe.
We have tools to load and unload module therefore there must be one kind of module that can be compile and load independent from the kernel

But not before you have actually compiled a kernel, I would strongly argue. You have to enable the appropriate AGP as a module in the kernel configuration before you can load / unload it as a module. One can not load something that does not exist.

There might be a way if you are using e.g. Nvidia's card and nvidia-driver, which does not require the inbuilt AGP at all. In that case just emerge nvidia-kernel (and perhaps nvidia-glx) and set the NvAGP in xorg.conf to 1 (can't remember whether the number is right).
