Gentoo: How to install without a compiled RAID and WLAN driver?

Hello,

I'm trying to change from debian to gentoo and read the beginnings of the installation instructions - so this is my first installation try. I started from an up-to-date minimal livecd but the drivers for my Highpoint RocketRAID 454 Controller which is needed to access the HDD and also the madwifi driver for my atheros WLAN-Card are not included in the kernel or as a module... Because the Kernelsources are also not included I ran in problems! Is there any way to compile the drivers or to get compiled drivers for the Kernel on the live cd (2.6.9-gentoosomething..) anywhere?

Thanks for any hints...

As I wrote in another thread of you:

After almost 4 years, maybe you could try building a customized CD with your specific RAID modules, then I *suppose* it should works.

In fact, I have never tried it, but I believe it should works.
