Fullscreen video jittery on Debian Lenny w/ Compiz-Fusion

Hello all!

I get a very low framerate while viewing fullscreen video in pretty much all of the major media players (vlc, MPlayer, etc.) when I'm using compiz-fusion on my Debian testing machine. It's a 3.0GHz P4 machine with an nVidia GeForce 6800 and 1GB of RAM. Compiz runs fine with the exception of this issue.

My computer is a little old but it can handle most recent games with very little problem.

I'm aware that this is a recognised problem with Compiz, so if a solution is not possible then a way to quickly turn off compiz when I'm watching something would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
