howto get compiz-fusion running on debian-etch on intel inbuilt graphics card ?

Hi,
i am using debian etch. I have intel 915GAV motherboard with inbuilt graphics card ( Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family Graphics Controller (rev 04)).
i installed all the compiz related (that I thought are related to compiz) packages from the synaptic package manager.
On giving the command "compiz" on the shell this is what I get "/usr/bin/compiz.real: No composite extension".
How do I get compiz-fusion working on my system?

Thanks,
Viny

Distribution: Arch and Gentoo for the most part, going to check out Ubuntu Studio tonight though.

You need a composite backend running with your X server. I'm not sure if your graphics card is compatible with AIGLX (a composite system that is a part of X windows, you can enable it in your xorg.conf file. If it isn't you'll need XGL, which runs as a seperate X server on top of the original X server. If the debian website doesn't have XGL or AIGLX tutorials/information, try the Gentoo Linux Wiki. Their howto's usually work with most distributions, you just have to replace Gentoo options with your own, ie. when they say install something using "emerge" (part of the Portage system for gentoo), you install it using synaptic instead.
