fbsetbg

This is going to sound like a rant...sorry

Basically I am using flux box, and would like to do a simple thing like change my wallpaper. The clear choice to do this is fbsetbg, which works.

That is, unless my picture doesn't take up the whole screen, in which case I get a nasty black border around it (scaling is NOT an option!). I'm over this for now though.

fbsetbg has a cool feature: -r for a random wallpaper. Sweet. Unless of course the image doesn't take up the whole screen, in which case it full-screens and distorts the image. And apparently there is no way to combine say, -c and -r. Horrible.

I'll take anything anyone can throw at me....

Thanks..

No better way to recover from a rant than to edit some source...

If the wallpapersetter in question is feh, edit line 421 in fluxbox-0.9.13/util

Now for the color issue...

You could use the gimp to resize the images.I like Esetroot to set the background, it comes with eterm or feh has alot of options;
