something wrong with fbsetbg and glibc

When I try to set a new wallpaper it says this:

xmessage:
fbsetbg: Something went wrong while setting the wallpaper.
Run 'display -geometry 1024x768+0+0 -window root Mya07x1024.jpg' from an xterm to find out what.

sbox% display -geometry 1024x768+0+0 -window root Mya07x1024.jpg
*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (!prev): 0x08051a30 ***
zsh: abort display -geometry 1024x768+0+0 -window root Mya07x1024.jpg

This is Slackware 10.1 running kernel 2.4.29
